Sledgehammer

Sledgehammer

Sledgehammer is a name that’s become well known in the Australian pulling scene, but it had quite the journey to get here.
Originally from Denmark, the tractor was imported by Fred Saul and Gene Fuller in January 2021. Over there, it was called Brumbassen, which translates to Bumblebee.
Getting it to Australia was far from smooth, A cargo ship became stuck in the Suez Canal, holding up freight around the world - including Sledgehammer. Once it finally arrived in Australia, delays with customs caused even more setbacks. It wasn’t until October 2021 that the tractor was finally cleared and headed for its new home.
Sledgehammer holds a unique title as one of the first diesel powered open modified tractors in Australia. It’s powered by a 14-litre turbo V8 Scania engine from a 143 series truck, running about 95+ psi of boost with water injection.
Its first appearance on an Australian track was at a test and tune day in Quambatook in November 2021. Since then, Sledgehammer has remained a strong performer and continues to compete at events today.
